A Little Bit About Me

In my business no two days are the same. I could be in my home office writing for a magazine or out on location taking photos. I have a knack for finding an interesting story and making fantastic images to go with it.

I’ve been a professional photographer for over 20 years. I trained as a photographer at Unitec, in Auckland in my thirties and gained the art education I had always longed for. I later added writing to my portfolio because I have enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember and it seemed a natural coupling. It has given me the ability to, deliver either one or both to busy editors, web developers and communications companies.

“Vivienne undertook the project of photographing a range of equipment and people for our website. She understood the brief and also clearly got the ‘feel’ of what we were looking for with all images in the exact format required by the designer. We would definitely recommend Vivienne as a photographer, an easy to get along with personality with experience and a passion for what she does.”

Rachel Pratt, editor, Farm Trader magazine

“I love the article – thanks a million – you have a wonderful turn of phrase and can take a beautiful photo. I’m going to send it to Allen and Unwin and my agent, as I reckon it’s really lovely.”

“Vivienne’s writing is crisp and engaging and her photography also excellent. I appreciate her dedication to the job, flexibility, open and honest communication and the effort she puts in to being a team player.”

Neill Gordon, former editor, Hawke’s Bay Country Scene.

“Vivienne has remained part of my on-call team and one of a small group of freelancers I rely upon to spot good stories and deliver them in a timely and professional manner. In addition to her natural flair for photojournalism, she is personable, cheerful and outgoing with exceptional networking skills.”

Peta Stavelli, editor, Motorhomes, Caravans and Destinations magazine.

“Vivienne’s photographs of Ridge Top Farm are absolutely beautiful. She went above and beyond her brief to capture the essence of the Ridge Top Farm glamping experience. We now have a complete library of shots that give us plenty of material for all our promotional activity.”

“I’ve worked with Vivienne several times over the last few years and recently had the privilege to work with her on a photo shoot for Ensol Tanks.   As usual, she was professional, passionate, intuitive and certainly knows her way around a camera. I think her work gets better all the time. Loving the photos and client does too!”
